Requirements

1.1 Participation is open to everyone who registered and accredited according to the rules, and was issued a official start number for the Frankfurt City Triathlon 2010.

1.2 Permission to participate in the olympic distance starts with the birth year 1994, and for the team and sprint triathlon with 1992. Participants younger than 18 need to present a signed consent of a legal guardian. Team membership is not a requirement.

1.3 Each athlete is obligated to attend the competition meeting. Please be especially aware of information concerning areas that might be a hazard. They are mentioned in the papers you'll receive at the accreditation.

Conditions

2.1 Every participant is required to consider if his health condition allows him to attend the event, if necessary by consulting a doctor. They need to make sure they have functioning equipment and need to wear a helmet that meets the DTU rules.

2.2 It is mandatory to follow the guidelines and instructions given by the presenter, staff and volunteers. In case of violations that might interrupt the planned course of the event or jeopardize the participants’ safety, the host may ban or disqualify the respective athlete at any time.

2.3 The time measurement transponder has to be returned after the race at the bicycle-checkout. At the end of the event, the host charges a 100 Euro fee for transponders that don’t get returned.

3. Conclusion of the contract

3.1 Once signed up, the registrant is obligated to attend the event. The only option to register is through an online form at http://www.franfurt-city-triathlon.de .

3.2 Every participant can only register once. Multiple registrations won’t be accepted.

3.3 The contract is effective once the registrant agreed to the DTU competition rules and regulations by clicking the box for general terms and conditions during the online registration process, paid the entry fee and has received the registration confirmation. Participants who are younger than 18 need to mail a permit signed by a legal guardian to the event host.

4. Payment

The participants pay through the online payment system PayPal or through direct debit.

5. Accredition

5.1 To receive the entry document at accredition, participants need to present the registration confirmation and a valid ID. Those who are not able to show up in person may authorize another person to pick up the entry papers in their name. Participants with a DTU license, who entered the license number during online registration, need present their license upon picking up their entry papers. If they don't show the license, they have to purchase a DTU day-license for 15 Euro.

5.2 Entry papers won't be issued on Sept. 5, 2010.

6. Cancellation

6.1 You may cancel within two weeks after registering. No refunds after 14 days. The person who cancelled may name a substitute participant until the 15th of August 2010 who will then take over the booked services. The event host charges a 15 Euro fee for this service.

7. Event cancellation / Registrants not showing up

7.1 If the event has to be cancelled due to force majeure, the entry fee will not be refunded, nor does the participant have a right to receive reimbursement for expenses like travel and lodging costs. Non-attendees are not entitled to any kind of refund.

8. Liability

8.1 Athletes participate at their own risk.

8.2 Liability of the event host is limited to intent and gross negligence. The same applies for companies and helpers hired by the event host. The event host cannot be held responsible for violations concerning life, body or health unless they were caused through intentional or  a gross careless neglect of duty performed by the event host, his legal representative, or assistant.

8.3. The event host is not responsible for lost equipment in the transition areas, nor for other lost items belonging to participants unless it was caused through an intentional or a gross careless neglect of duty performed by the event host, his legal representative or assistant. We recommend that you have theft insurance.

8.4 Upon receiving the start number, the participant confirms that his/her health condition allows him/her to participate in this event.

9. Data collection and data processing

9.1 The participant's personal information on the registration form will be saved and used only for purposes concerning event handling / procedures.

9.2 The participant agrees that the registration details may be used and distributed for time measurement, scores and results as well as made public in form of pictures, video recording and interviews taken at the event without entitlement to receive a commission.

10. Competition rules

10.1 This event goes by the competition rules of the German Triathlon Union (Sport rules, the organizer's rules, German Bunde League, anti doping rules, sport judges rules) as well as as legal- and discipline regulations and rules of procedure. Upon registering, the participant accepts these regulations as obligatory.

11. Changes

11.1 The event host may decide to make last minute changes regarding time management and routeing. The participant agrees that this is no reason to cancel the contract.
